Huzzah!

I've finally coome up with a line for Thermal that I actually like.

Started with: "riding on the flames from our love burning" (cheesy)
Moved on to: "riding on a thermal built of yearning" (hard to grasp)
And now I've settled on: "With your help my love, I'm learning"

It finally seems to fit, and I'm so glad because that spot's been bugging me since I wrote the thing last...November?

So, yes.

Multi Player Jigsaw

Wow! Funny game....

My comittment to updating is so slight that I doubt anyone would actually check here for an update...

I've been busy; things, creatively, have been slow. But, I got a few ideas on my roadtrip and so tonight I plunked out really what's quite a pretty song. Soon as it's done I'll get the lyrics up. I've also decided that the song I wrote at the Peter Mulvey workshop really isn't bad so I'm going to fine tune it and put it up as well.

I've revamp the site...which means either that I'm bored and just want another diversion from my homework, or that we've gotten further on the CD and I'm prepping the site to look like the CD itself (how classy of me) and updating the site is easier than working on the site itself. Or perhaps both.

New song up in lyrics...I wrote it a few weeks ago, but it was a surprise present for someone so I don't want to publish the lyrics and have them read it before they'd heard it. But they're up now. Along with some group pictures of my halloween costume...which has nothing to do with music. Eh.

This past weekend, we spent some time attempted to figure out how to record. Never really happy with anything, we've now got some new equipment, and are going to spend more time this coming weekend. Wish us luck.

Other than...a new song, bits and pieces of others. I'll get the new lyrics up sooner or later. Been busy with school.

So much for the contest; I was busy last weekend, and my father was busy last weekend, and we missed the deadline. But that's okay; we're going to keep an eye out for other contests, and in the meantime I need to recover my voice.

My recording from the radio show came in the mail today. I listened to a couple of my songs and man, I sound awful. But, what can I expect to hear when I listen to myself? Bah.

I enjoyed my return to Shugga's

I didn't really feel like going Friday; I'd had a sore throat all week and was tired, and wanted to to go to the dance...but I really had fun. It was a smaller group of performers, which was nice because it didn't drag that way, and we got through everyone exactly twice before the time was up. I played Tidal the best I have in a long while, and despite my cold I sang well. Robin sang with Walt backing her up on guitar and Jim playing washboard percussion, and it sounded really terrific!

So much demand for CD...it's quite flattering. :-) But people will probably not remain so kind if I keep putting it off.

7:50am, my alarm clock (and my watch alarm, since I've been ignoring the other one lately) went off, and I sort of rolled over to turn on my radio. I called my dad to make sure we were recording it, then got back in bed. It's a wonder I didn't fall asleep through the whole thing, I was so tired...I managed to stay awake uptil 8:30 when Clint put the recording on, and then listened to it, my eyes closed most of the time because I was just that tired (and I didn't even go to bed that late!). Oh, wait, I did fall asleep a couple of times...I missed the beginning of the third round: Gus' interview and song and my interview, but I lapsed back into consciousness in time for the Shugga's plug and Tidal. Out of the four, I played that one the worst...not that anyone but myself or Juliet, my vocal teacher, would know that.

Gotta get going on the CD now, I know...

I guess it was cool to hear myself on the radio...but it was almost like listening to a CD, you know? I guess the real concept of it, and that people I've never met were listening, just hasn't sunk in. Eh.
